Repeated cold & cough

One thing that a weather change brings about is lung infections - most commonly cough and cold. Most people dread the change of seasons from one temperature to another because of the fear of how their body will react to the weather change.

If the symptoms are severe and chronic, Vamana Panchakarma treatment, followed by Virechana is administered. This helps to relieve Ama and balance Tridosha. For those who don’t have digestion issues, Nasya treatment (nasal drops therapy) is administered with herbal oils such as Anu taila or Shadbindu taila.



Chronic Cold & Cough

Chronic cold is a common ailment. When you have sneezing, watery discharge from the nose (runny nose), itchy or congested nose with watery, red eyes for more than an hour, it can be termed can be termed as persistent rhinitis. Breathlessness / Asthma

Asthma is a respiratory disease which is characterized by narrowing of the airways. This happens when the body responses to a trigger such as exposure to cold air, allergens in the air, emotional stress or heavy exercise.

When the airways narrow, patients show symptoms such as tightness of the chest, wheezing noise while breathing, coughing and shortness of breath.

The cause of asthma according to Ayurveda is accumulation of Kapha in the airways. The airways become narrow because of the blockage caused by Kapha. As a result, the flow of air to the lungs is interrupted, which makes the patient experiences difficulty in breathing. Asthma is caused because of excessive intake of vata, consuming kapha aggravating food items, weakening of the lung tissues, and problems caused by lung diseases.



Bronchitis

Bronchitis usually starts with some upper respiratory infection or exposure to an irritating substance. Poor diet, digestion and elimination can create an internal environment in the bronchial area that allows infection to more easily occur.
Stress, poor lifestyle, bad circulation and lack of rejuvenative regimens can deteriorate the body's immune response to invading organisms in the bronchial area.

Nasal polyp

Nasal polyps are bulb like soft structures originating from nasal and para nasal mucous lining. Chronic sinusitis, chronic allergic rhinitis and fibrosis all are seen with development of these nasal polyps. All these diseases cause chronic inflammation and manifest as nasal polyp. Anti allergic sprays are generally advised in allopathy and at last surgical intervention is required.

Treatment :

Local application of some oils over polyps is advised to shrink them. The root cause being allergy is also to be dealt. For the same the medicines that are anti allergic and immune booster are advised.



Sinusitis

Sinusitis is an inflammatory condition of your sinuses. Sinuses are the air cavities in your skull. Inflammation of these sinuses causes swelling of mucus membrane and interferes with mucus drainage.

Causes of Sinusitis :
  • Repeated respiratory infection.
  • Deviated nasal septum.
  • Dust or pollen allergies.


Migraine

Migraine treatment in Ayurveda focuses on reducing the throbbing pain and also the strain on eyes causes by aura symptoms. Migraine is a common type of headache and is typically characterized by pounding pain at the front or on one side of the head.
